Title: Pump question
Post by: 74 SleekCraft on March 06, 2014, 07:00:48 AM
Can I use the bowl off a split bowl on a different pump that is not a split bowl?

If its a berk then most berk and others will interchange with little to light mods. If its a Jac,pan ect you need the energizer kit. If you have a C berk (for example)  and trying to put a split berk B/G/modified C...no propblem. I have an aggressor older 9 vane that just needed light machining to ad stuffer replacing a modified split C bowl. If you have a trans bowl cover, make sure to measure bowl if not berk for fit. Some newer bowls are slightly bigger than the stock berk bowl trans cover. Also check tolerance from pump to end of impeller, then inside bowl to outer flange depth.  If any mods have been done to either side, machining might be required. I believe stock clearance between the two is around .125 and adding a stuffer will tighten up the void and help with flow.
