Alright on the take off if I get into it the motor revs up like it came out of the water I let off and take off slow and it's fine any suggestions it's a Jacuzzi the pump

Overdue for a rebuild on that pump. And never run it dry after you do the build.

To me, it's a given that upon acquiring a pump first thing I'm gonna do is rebuild it.

Most commonly it's people filtering rocks and gravel through their pumps, absolutely wrecking the leading edges of the impellor where literally ALL of the cavitation is created.

The YJ has shims, right? Shouldn't he check to see if there's any adjustment left before he spends money on anything else? ???

Sorry if there questions are Stupid but How would I go about checking the shims and if I could shim it How would I get them I have never torn into a pump before

Shimming won't restore the clearance between the wear ring and impeller on the diameter. Most likely you have damage to the impeller or something that is disturbing the flow into and through the impeller. Climb under and take a look in the inlet of the jet to view the leading edges of the impeller. As stated before, any dings in in the entry of the impeller will cause cavitation that will continue through the pump. Same thing with dings on the leading edges of the bowl vanes. All will cause excessive RPM and lost thrust.
If you feel ambitious enough to pull the pump apart and the dings are not to bad, you can sharpen them out with a file. I wouldn't suggest going hog wild with a grinder unless you are willing to sacrifice your 1st part to the flow gods. A good clean-up will do wonders for your performance.
All that can be done for no cost except for some of your time and gaskets. American Turbine website has documentation on Jacuzzi pumps that you can download. Take a look and if you don't feel comfortable or you are not feeling mechanically inclined, you might consider getting help.

So I took the inspection cover off and this is what I found is it an easy fix

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but adjusting the shims can (but not all of the time) correct an impeller-to-wear ring clearance issue on the YJ. It's a tapered impeller/wear ring. IMO, that's the best feature of that pump. You can adjust it for wear - up to a point.
However, based on monster burb's subsequent posts, it looks like he may have a tailshaft bearing issue.

My mistake. You are correct, I am in Berkeley/Dominator mode.
