Q's? about 78' Sanger SuperJet pump rebuild
« on: September 04, 2010, 08:56:14 PM »
I had aluminum filings in my intake water line from my 12jgA berk impeller im guessin'. The son of a 'beezy' hydro locked up thought I seized my BB. The filings were bunched up @ the water pump set up. I Im in contra costa county and the delta has alot of brackish water. Salt on impeller to much im guessin'. I heard I have to remove my motor to remove my pump b/c of the way sanger mounted their pumps.
Q? how much to do a complete rebuild "ballpark" and should Ihave some one else do it or tackle it on my own? Local GTBoats (Dave) said he can build for me if need be.
Q? If someone has the knowledge could you pass on (what and in what order) do I attempt the pump removal? supposed to be goin' to East Park Res. on 9/18  Thanks, JONES

If you remove the transom ring and the bowl from the pump you can actually remove the suction housing without removing the engine. Atleast I can on my 79 Superjet w/  a 454.

Tom at Jet Boat Performance can set you up with instructions, parts, tools, etc
