I have been debating on what I should do about the intake on my project. One of them is completely broken off and the other only has half the fin. I have read some of the older post about weather or not you can just remove the fins completely and notice that there are some mix reviews. I have heard several people say that it is a pain in the @ss to set a intake let alone taking one out.
Any advice on what I should do?
Thanks guys

they stabilize the boat at speed. if you have a ride plate you could always remove the remaining fin and change up the ride plate to something like this

I dont have a ride plate but maybe that would be cheaper. Do they sell that piece or is that a custom piece?

if yer gonna buy stuff you might as well just get the intake you have repaired or get another one and set it in.

No fins would make for some bitch!n 360's at speed

The fins technically have two jobs.
They are supposed to help keep the pump loaded and they are also there to ensure the boat stays somewhat straight on an unplanned shut down.
What Intake do you have? I have a couple here if you need one, is yours rounded or flat (delta pad or round keel)... let me know. They aren't too tough to replace, it's mostly about how bad you want to change it.
I need to see which ones I have left.

Berk, Jacuzzi...?
I have an intake for a round keel Jacuzzi WJ sitting around. I could talk to the owner and see how much he wants for it.
I also rebuilt my flat keel Jacuzzi intake by welding on two new fins and blending them in with seagoin' poxy putty.
The only problem with rebuilding like I did is that if you hit something hard enough you could break off the entire fin and take out the intake housing.

You definitely want to replace it don't cut them off my 79 charger didn't have any fins the previous owner broke them and there where a few times on higher speeds it would get away from me and want to spin around.....not fun at all lol.

Its for a Jacuzzi WJ. I will have to check when I get home to see if it is a round keel. Let me know how much he wants for it.
