I m trying o remove the brass nut in th back of the pump to check and replace the bushing. I absolutely cannot get it to budge. I don't want to tork it too much because it is soft rass. Anyone ever remove one, if so how the heck??? Thanks. :banghead:

Its still on the boat.

i would not take it out you mite not be able to get it back on it fits over the shaft but then agen i don't know i had mine apart wen i replaced it

if i need to I can pull it off the boat, have had the pump out before.. Is it reverse thread? what did it take to get yours off?

is the boat running?

the boat is running. The impellar was loose and I had to tighten it up. I put the pump back in the boat, but I want to check the bushing for any damage while I am working on it.

the big brass bushing in a 12wj has reverse threads, turn it the other way!!!!!!!
