ive never done it....but ive seen my shop mate do his.....he used a torch.  softened it and got after it with a putty knife and chisel....
heated the aluminum next to the epoxy, not directly on epoxy.  intake off the boat was "easier" as no danger of ruining glass....on the boat, just needed to be extra careful, but it was a little tougher as he didnt heat it as hot.  any real stubborn parts were removed with die grinder with coarse cutting bit and angle grinder.  also place a jack under intake to keep a little pressure on it as he worked on removing it. 

Use a torch to heat the aluminum and break the bond of the epoxy.  Run the torch around the bottom (outside) of the intake focusing the heat toward where the epoxy is on the inside.  Keep the torch moving and don't stay in one spot too long and be careful not to overheat the aluminum.  Acetylene works best, map gas will work, and propane will take forever.

Once the epoxy starts to smoke, drive two large screw drivers between the fiberglass and intake at the front and pry apart.  It is easier if the intake is clamped to a heavy work bench on the suction surface.

I use a 4" grinder with a 36-grit disk or flapper wheel to sand the remaining epoxy off of the intake.  Once the intake is pulled, it takes about 10-15 minutes to clean it up real nice with the grinder.  It's going to make a huge mess, so I would recommend grinding it outside.
