Sup guys, I'm having trouble with my forward reverse cable. I just bought the cable along with a steering rack cable and it moves the nozzle forward and reverse but when I'm out on lake I can't get it to go into reverse or neutral. My brother was able to hold it by hand into neutral and it worked fine like that but when I try to do it with the lever, it just stays in forward. Not sure what it can be. Not sure on how to adjust it either. Don't know if it's normal but the lever moves forward and reverse pretty easily and it moves the nozzle on jet pretty easy as well.

are all the cables properly attached? both at the pump and they're usually held to where the shifter mounts with a little clip...

Yeah I remember putting that lol mount bracket on with the clip. I'll double check make sure it didn't come off.

Is this the style of fwd/rv you have? If so, that silver button on the left can disconnect the fwd/rv. Can you post a pic of what you have please.

Now that I look at the picture of the bracket, I think the bracket is supposed to hold down onto the metal part of cable. Right? But either way, the way it is now, it moves the nozzle in jet
-
Yes it's supposed to hold on the groves part on the metal, most likely the cable is just sliding back and forth while there's a load on the pump, but on the trailer with no resistance it seems fine.

Okay cool. I'll try it next time I hit water

Got a picture of how yours is held on? Do I clamp it down on any part of the metal part? I don't see any grooves
-
The clamp has a slight indentation, and the metal part of the cable has a slight groove in it.. thats where it should attach, I believe,.
-
Yes its right there in your pic right after the black rubber pice

Which part lol

The orange "here" area if you look on the inside of that clamp you'll see it has a area that fits right in the grove on the cable/metal which keeps it from sliding back and forth when you are trying to open/close bucket.

Okay cool. I got it done. I'll see how it works next weekend. I also think I need to adjust or move my lever forward or something cus the cable I have to stretch outward to make it be able to connect to handle lever bracket
-
Sounds good! You should have some adjustment on the end of the cable too that connect to your reverse bucket should have some threads & a stainless heim joint
