Ride plate: more for speed or stability. ?

Most suggest 2 degrees up from keel to start. I just installed a bolt on kit from HTP. Simple to install without removing intake. I set mine at 3 degrees up. My hull would porpoise with diverter all the way up and drag ass cruising before. Jumps to plane quick and will hold at plate from mid to high rpm. Steers better and feels way more solid at the higher rpm's.
