Looking for a solution to let my boat drain at the marina. I now keep it dry stacked indoors at a marina right by my apartment on Lake Norman.
I'm not always there when they pick it up at the dock when I'm done with it and put it away. I leave the engine hatch and floor lockers open so nothing mildews or stinks. I still don't like water sitting in the hull all the time. I have an flat switch for the bilge so I don't mind if it leaks a little. Anybody know of one or use one?

my dad does the following when he stores his boat for the winter:
get a small 12v wet/dry vac and just suck all the water out of the bilge when you're done using it so its at least "close" when they come to pick it up. then you can toss one of those "bilge absorbent pads" down in there to suck up the rest of it if needed.
im hoping that the place pulls the bilge plugs when they store the boat but it can only drain so much...

They don't pull plugs. I think my boat is the only one here that has any wood interior components. Its all Bayliners and pontoons out heeya.
The place closes at 7, sometimes I'm out late and it has to sit overnight in the water. They know to pluck it out and put it away first thing in the next morning. Sometimes I'll swing by the marina after work and have them take it down for me so I can drain it. It'd sure be nice to have a one way plug.

flatbottoms use one way "J" drains, but no way in hell would i trust that for an hour let alone overnight...
