It's time to fix this. Here's what I want to do. I want to reseal the pump to transom without moving my pump. I figured i can chip away and sand the remaining silicone. remove 1 bolt at a time and silicone the head portion of the bolt and reinstall bolt into pump and torque the bolt. What silicone or sealant should I use that's not to crazy where I can remove the pump in the future without damaging hull? Should my pump be flush against the transom? Or is that gap normal? After siliconing the bolt heads how do I apply the silicone to make a nice thick bead thAt doesn't look like a hack job on the pump? I will silicone the intake portion of pump underneath as well. Any tips to do this will be greatly appreciated . Thanks

Masking tape and GE silicone II are your friends. I use a caulking gun to make a living..

DO NOT USE 3M marine adhesive/sealer....the transom adapter will become one with your transom, and you'll have to use a proper jackhammer to get shot apart should the need ever arise.
Use bathtub caulking....excessive amounts if need be...anything but the 3M stuff

You'll like it. Once it's cured it doesn't change. Its shiny and doesn't pick up dust. Take your time cleaning with alcohol or other solvent and mask wherever you don't want to smear it.

The ge stuff is good just like bj said. When you go to buy it check the bottom of the tube, sometimes Hd and Lowes will get a old batch and the bottom plug will start pushing out and its no good. It will never cure.

I just silicone over the old stuff.... The old stuff is insanely hard to remove and a pain. Just sanded up, cleaned, and applied thick noob beads of silicone. It will do for now.
