Title: set up to scare grandma
Post by: ratboy13 on February 28, 2007, 09:18:26 PM
so i am done stripping my new project it is a 76 waikiki day runner 19ft
i am putting a 454 in i am leaning towards putting a blower on it not sure yet depends on the little bro..
so figure 600+ hp min  :o :obut the question at hand is the boat has a jacuzzi jet "wj" i took the bowl off and the impeller is chiped pretty good and the bowl looks like it is missing pretty good chunks out of the leading edges.

so do i spend the $1800 for the energizer??  or since i am going to be doing glass and paint work look for a new pump??
dose anyone know what kind of speeds i will get out of this boat with a energizer wj???
secondly what is a good setup for this hull???

and i guess lastly am i barking up the wrong tree thinking this could be a 70 mph boat???

thanks for all your input

With 600 ponies , it'll definatly run 70 assuming everything is it's place . I'm not the pump pro so I'll let someone knowlegable swing at this . I personally have only heard good things about the energizer kits and not to mention no glass work needed . Thats my .02

i'm with Omar on this one not being an expert and all. that being said i do have a jacuzzi y/j in my hawaiian and it does have the energizer kit in it, and it was the best thing i could do for it. the w/j pump probably does'nt need the kit to get to 70 it is already a good pump.

if i was you i would get a hold of one of our sponsor's and ask some ???  duane at htp or george at ars marine. either one will point you in the right direction.  mho is keep the w/j if your not looking to build a race boat.   ralph

If you go to this site this guy is taking old pumps as trades for a new legend. I am no pump expert but I was in a dominator baot last week with a legend and he scared teh living shit out of me with the speed and power.
