Water to the motor.

I threw a rod on my motor last weekend , I notice right before it happened the temperature spiked to 250 and i lost oil pressure . I have a 12 je that was working great right before this unfortunate chain of events happened to my motor .Question is , if my jets is working good and propelling the boat then can i be assured it is pumping water into the motor ? I think the motor spun all the bearings and that made the temp spike But i do not want to put my new 3000 dollar motor back in if the there is a reason that the jet could stop pumping water through the motor . What does a rebuild run for a JE ?

Just because you have forward motion that's no guarantee that you don't have something blocking the little opening where the cooling water exits the pump and heads to the block. A good rebuild, from a reputable shop, should run you $1350 and up. I highly recommend Cyclone Speed & Marine in Pacoima. Jim Brock knows his shit and won't let your pump out the door until he's sure it's what you want.
