What are the small cables x2 I'm seeing on some high perf jets ? Is it some other type of steering system? I'm looking for a photo and will post when I find it.

That would be calgo steering system Tad. Its a cable system, much better than a normal rack and pin system. The normal cable system has a lot of slack in it. The calgo has little to none.

I knew you would know thanks Jake

is the calgo system harder to rig and adjust vs other typical systems? do they use pulleys vs a tube? i was reading hal build on the advantage and noticed the small cables too..was like, "i know its for steeing, but how???" lol :sly:

The Calgo steering is a little more involved.
Basically 2 cables inside of sleeves that come out of the helm, routed back towards the pump and fastened at the nozzle. It's a "pull" only so there is a little maintains involved.
The Calgo jet and v-drive systems are a little student but not by much.
V-drives (some) use a "chain and cable" system the uses pulleys to route cables down and around the length of the boat to a quadrant to a rudder, blah blah blah blah.....
The most preferred way to steer a flat bottom....
Some mild set up flat bottoms used Calgo and single cable Morse type steering which is undesirable.
