Title: Stainless impeller ... no wearing shoulder

Anybody know why this Berkeley impeller is like this? got it out of a junk boat ...

What specifically are you referring to?  I'm guessing the partially missing shoulder?

Looks like excessive balancing for an excessively out of balance impeller.  I believe those are sand cast.  Any core shift requires compensation for in balancing.

Those aren't good impellers.  Just because they are 316 stainless steel does not make them work good.

Those impellers are very heavy castings with overly thick vanes.  The thick vanes will naturally cavitate more.  Thicker castings also means smaller flow passages.

Anything else, I would have to measure.

Thanks for input Flusher . Yeah I was wondering why the shoulder in the picture is missing lol .. Atleast  I know now what I got as far as performance wise ...
