cruisin on the river and sucked up some rocks wich chewed up the impeller pretty good. Got it all apart and wondering what to put back in. Its a 12jc-A berkeley with a not so stock 455 olds probably 400 hp maybe little more. should I go bigger on the impeller. Is going stainless steal worth the cost? You guys got any suggestions this is my first time pullin one of these apart.

bigger impeller depends on your rpm now
at your hp level aluminum is fine, mag bronze would be a nice upgrade though...

Like Ralph said Impeller choice (cut) will depend on your engine and I would add , what your wanting out of the boat, what boat and what you use it for , re Bronze or stainless , they are basically a strength and endurance issue , most Bronze and Stainless (with the exception of Agressor and Dom Hi helix) are "cut for cut" with their aluminum siblings If you need help I PMd contact info Josh and I are around for Tech 6 days a week and I sent my cell in case you need help after hours Tom

If the only difference between the the two is strength then im good with aluminum. Is this thing as simple to put back together as it was to take apart. anything I should be watchen out for. I get nervous when things look easy, makes me think Im missing something. Im just going to be switchen the impeller, bowl oring and transom gasket. anything else I should be doing. where do I order parts from?
