mine got raped by the sea water and is frozen solid... i measured it and its just about 13' rack and pinion. my question is does my panther use a standard type steering cable? im guessing the end that sticks out of the boat is threaded and it screws in/out to get it centered?
hell while im at it i might as well replace my control cable as well... it looks like a 4300BC? that sound right? hopefully tomorrow i can make a trip to rexmar and pick up some stuff.

You can usually get a "3 cable" deal and just replace them all. I know Tom at JBP does. Right around 2 hundo and comes with a new helm and all hardware you'll need.

already have a new throttle cable. my steering and control cables were working fine until 1 dip into that salt water. now they're locked up. grr. stupid salt.

gonna swing by rexmar tomorrow morning and pickup a rack and pinion kit with cable, and a 43bc control cable as well. think the only things i havent replaced now are the fuel tanks. knock on wood!
hopefully the old rack lines up with the new one bolt hole wise. then i gotta figure out how to actually unbolt it from teh dash... any pointers?
