I need to replace my steering cable on my boat. It's a 1978 Hallett mini day cruiser 20 1/2' . Jet is a Berkley with place diverter (no split bowl). Does anyone know the part# or the length i need and where to purchase it.

Remove the cable and usually it will say the length, if not a tape measure will do the job.

Is this a rotary steer?

Yes it is. It appears to be an old Morse rotary system. Replacement cables are no longer made for that unit so you will also need to replace the helm as well. Depending on how old your Morse setup is, you may also need a new steering wheel adapter. The real old setups used a ¾” square steering shaft vs. the current ¾” round tapered shafts.
It’s a fairly easy job to do but be prepared to drill some new mounting holes in the dash. The bezel should cover any old holes that aren’t going to be used though.
