I have a rotary type steering system and I need to replace the cable. Do the rotary types take the Safety-T quick cables? My cable has a "nub" ob the end of the helm side. I tried to post a pic, but couldn't...
Thanks

My old rotary took the normal morris cable. With the pricw of complete steering kits nowadays (rotary and rack) it is almost better to just replace the whole steering sytem. I also recomend the racks if you have room for it.

Thanks for the suggestion, but I am just looking to replace the cable I have. I can get the cable for $50.00 if it is the right type.
BTW, what is a "normal" Morse cable?

There is no more Morse Co. Teleflex makes the replacement cables for our old boats. Call Rex marine, that's where I got mine from.
In my case, I bought the helm and all, complete system. Price difference was negligible between just the cable and "The Rack".
Google: Teleflex the rack

Is suggest one of these too. Keeps water out of your new cable's housing.
My steering has never been so effortless.
