hey everyone just asking if anyone has had the same issue
i was out at park moabi last week. i have a 2002 ultra 21xs open bow with a 540bbc and a dominator jet that is set back and has a divider. started to notice and slow speeds my steering wheel has a lot of play and is hard to keep the boat going straight and at 65 70mph feels sloppy. anyone know how to fix this problem or where to start to fix this problem. boat only has 52hrs and the motor and pump only have 20hrs

Start with the easiest.  Watch the connection of the steering cable to the tiller arm while someone slowly rotates the wheel back and forth.  Is the bolt loose and slopping around?  Is the cable moving responsively to the steering wheel?  Is the tiller arm tight to the diverter?  Is the steering tube loose in the transom adapter?

While you are there, check all the bushings for excessive slop. Do you see anything that indicates that the o-rings might be leaking or damaged?  If something doesn't immediately jump out as being wrong, it is most likely okay.

Let us know what you find.

Speaking of steering
What cables are better the Hardin marine or the teleflex?
