Hey Guys,
Just looking for everyone's thoughts on the place diverter dropp and rideplate kit. I'm considering it for a cheaper alternative to getting my intake machine for a ridplate etc.

I've seen that combo work well. 78 Nordic here on the boards put that set up on his boat and it really woke it up.
But if the intake has to come out of the boat I would just do a true shoe and ride plate. 👍👍

Intake doesn't have to come out, thats why I'm thinking about giving it a try. I suppose there isn't a way to tell which droop your boat will respond better to besides guess/checking?

1984 Tahiti. Hardin and Caribbean made the same hull. It is a real solid and heavy boat for what it is. 18ft long

I would try it out. Also a place Diverter if you don't have one already.

What if you add a droop and it rides like crap? I mean do you wanna shoot higher roost or are you just trying to go faster?

That hull is just gong to ride dirty. Betting there is a 3/8" hook in that badboy.
I think the droop will help a ton. You will need a bit of hp to make it work to gain speed but the droop will free it up.

Just looking to make it ride a little better and get the boat out of the water. There is a slight hook in it, not sure how big. I'm thinking the droop and ride plate is worth a try, I'm already pushing a little over 500 ponies so I think it should make a decent difference.

Well droop is quick an easy if u got money to play with I say go for it first.

Well depending on your RPM in the picture and depending on how much gas was in the tanks the boat doesn't look too bad, with the diverter at full up you're basically trying to bury the rear end. So you can really can't rely on that pic. The best nozzle position for performance at speed is usually between 1/2 and 3/4 up. Basically at that point where the roost is just above the water.
And as far a a better ride quality what are you trying to correct or improve on? Porpoising?

That is with both tanks almost empty and turning about 5,200RPM. A impeller. The boat doesnt porpoise at all but it just gets squirrely sometimes and steers like sh*t and like I said I think it rides too wet, although with my hull it made be hard to correct it riding wet cause of the hull design, it has a deeper V than I originally thought.

Yeah fully trimmed out your gonna only wanna go straight it wont turn easy but if the PD nozzle is in neutral position should steer normal.
How fast are you going at 5200rpm?

It just steers terribly in general. Worst steering jet I've ever owned. I'm thinking about doing a rudder as well. She tops out right at 75MPH Spinning about 5,400-5,500RPM. At 5,200 I think its right at 70-72. I've only had the gps on a few times when I making a pass.

To be honest I already have it up for sale. Lol. It's a nice boat I just want a faster hull.

I don't think a turn fin will help you at all, try a mini droop. It will bring the nozzle down some but won't stuff it in the water. I had a similar hull and a full drop made it porpoise at cruising speed, only way I could make it stop was dropping the diverter or nailing it and it was never a problem before that. I was gonna go with a mini but never got that far. Sold it before I could try it. So I think a mini would help you lift it some more and help with your turning. Also, any slack in the steering cable or excessive play I'm the rack or anywhere else?

No slack in the steering. I've thought about a mini droop....I guess there's no way to know for sure until I try both lol.

Well if you can get ahold of a used mini droop it's worth a shot before you go and buy a full droop and ride plate
