What is the advantage of running a wedge?

The advantage is the ability to use a wedge , be it up or down , to fine tune the performance of your boat . Most will wedge up , in theory that brings the bow up and therefore there is less wetted surface therefore giving you more MPH . In my case , I need to wedge down to bring the bow down , giving the boat the ability to run through the chop . GT pretty much covered it from end to end . Lottsa trail and error butter cup .

For boat's like mine ( California Performance) the reason to use the wedge is to lower the trust line of the water exiting the pump. The lower the thrust line the more you can lift the boat out of the water therefore having less wetted area.

Did you set your wedge in the up position or down position ?
