I'm eyeing a jet boat with this pump. Supposed to be a converted Panther/ American Turbine. What's all the stuff hanging down under it? Two big plates and a wedge?

Ralph the longer extended ride plate skid fins are (were) offered by Panther as "white water fins" as I remember , I'm clueless as to whats been done to the place diverter rudder

Thanks for the replies, and the link. Looks like I could take them off, and probably in the process, find out why they were put on! The fins look like maybe they were modified/moved back for clearance. I'll show you why I'm interested in this particular boat:

...cuz it's got a chevy in it?  i knew you'd come around sooner or later.  i also agree that the fuel mileage in a single carb N/A motor isn't nearly poor enough, what with rising gas prices and all.... the blower engine with 2 carbs should be much better.

Yes, Tom, that's the one! How long ago was the pump done? He thinks 2 1/2 years or so. So I guess you're not the one that put all the fins on. Anything to be afraid of with a converted pump? the only "Panther " left is the intake, right? Anything else you could tell me about the boat would be appreciated.

I bought the first or second production panthergized kit...pretty sure it was the first because Ron at at shipped me mine assembled.....wanted to make sure i didnt screw it it up I guess.lol I was VERY pleased with the outcome.

That rudder on the diverter looks like a modified log splitting wedge.......

the two fins sticking down is the 6 inch fin ride plate from panther. it plants the back of the boat and insures you wont spin out. there were two ride plates from panther a 3 inch and a 6 inch. so if you want to lessen the drag just cut the fins in half. i had both the 3 and 6 inch ones on the aquaholic and could not tell a difference. i did bend the 6 inch ones a couple times due to drifting into a sandbar on a booze cruz.  The panther is a good pump if you dont want to modify them. they last forever. the reason people dont like them is there is no diverter or different impellors. so with this one already being modified you get the best of both worlds.
