I am installing a place diverse on a JC Berk and I wrestled with it all day and still not complete. The pins that hold it to the bowl, the top one is too long but that ain't all. The holes for the place diverter were stripped, I tapped them and conquered that. Come to find out it was a hydraulic place D and the cable that was sent won't mount I'm the hole on the arm for the tilt. I know others have converted from hydraulic to manual. The cable is like a throttle cable and don't have the big nuts like the reverse bucket cable. What do I do now?

I'm confused which holes for the diverter were stripped?
The top pin, that was previously your tiller arm pin, does not get used. Instead a short one with a 5/16 threaded hole gets put in. The lower pin gets reused. Make sure you use new nylon bushings.
The hole on the trim arm is either oblong, for a hydraulic or circle for a manual.
The the cable that you have now, what diameter is it?

The hole for trim is round and has holes on the side looks like a pin or screw bolted in. The cable is the same as the throttle cable. The holes for the diverter to hold the pins. I got no pins with the used diverted I bought. So I was re using the factory ones.

I'm pretty sure the pins you speak of are two different kinds. And will not work on the diverter the same way they did for the stock JC bowl. Not a 100% sure if this is what you're talking about.

Here are some pics. I did not see where you can buy a new pin for the top. And my other question is how to secure the cable to the upper arm of the diverter for the tilt?????

Usually the long pin is in the bottom and only if your installing a rudder, i think you need short pins for the top and bottom

Cable is the same as a "shift" cable, not "throttle", should be a 43 BC, or 4300BC series...

Usually the long pin is in the bottom and only if your installing a rudder, i think you need short pins for the top and bottom

That's what I was thinking on the cable too. I might just put the longer pin in the bottom since I don't think you can buy shorter pins. The pin is longer because the steering arm is attached from factory. So I need a cable. Thank you
