I have been wondering since Pw_Tony came by and took a look at my pump... He mentioned something about a "ultimate wear ring" How do you know if you have one?
When i bought this boat , Dennis told me everything about the pump. I didnt hear a word of it, i was excited to see it sitting in my driveway ;D Here's a pic.... What do you see.

2Sav,
I have an UWR. I know I have one cause I built my pump.... ;D
I think UWR are red in color. That may be the liner in blue you are seeing. The best thing to do to get a definite answer is email Duane at Hi-Tech Performance the picture you have there.
Duane is great. I had him on the phone several times when setting up my pump even on a Saturday.
I was sent the wrong wear ring twice. I have an "old" style Dominator impeller that went into a Berk JG bowl. He made good for it and overnited them.
Oh and if you do have an UWR, DO NOT DO NOT run it out of water.

0.018-.030.... I think the UWR, or similar types, run super small clearances like .005", I'm sure Tom would know the answer better

Well if i did it right I got a very tight .015
