Title: Wedges
Post by: Tomale 1 on September 01, 2014, 08:13:01 PM
I need a 12° wedge or a couple of smaller ones for a split bowl.  Does anyone have any for sale or know where I can get them from?

What you need is at least three 4° wedges... No such animal as a 12°.

It would work out better with 5 wedges, makes the studs fit better.

What are you trying to do? didn't want to air you out on FB... Just buy a rooster booster. Much safer as far as durability. 12° is a whole bunch.

I have 20.5 Advantage closed bow. It has a BBC 454 with an American Turbine split bowl. It rides real ruff, can't get the bow out of the water.  It has a place diverted and it still doesn't help

Have you looked at the bottom.
No amount if wedge is gonna fix the ride if the bottom is a mess.
I'd try to figure out what's causing the crappy ride and fix that.

Dude, do you have any idea how much 12° is?

Same questions I always ask... How much unnecessary crap do you have in the boat?

What kind of speed, how many RPM?

It's not rocket science... It's jet science... LMAO

More wedge will make it ride even worse. You are fighting low HP. Sort of like low "T" but way more expensive.

You're right I don't know how much that is. But first of all that's what I was told. Maybe I misunderstood him but that doesn't matter. I do know this I want to learn. So with that being said I'll probably be asking what seems like a lot of dumb questions, but where better to learn, but a on a jet boat forum

I have a 4* pin on my straight with a 2* wedge an tried a 3* wedge this weekend an lost 200 rpm . Also gave me a dead spot on 3 adjustments with diverter...put the 2 back on. The best add on was the Bolton shoe/plate with 3* up from keel. The smallest changes can make or break a good ride
