I recently bought an 82 Baja 18ft br with a 460 big block and a Berkley jet pump. It runs great but I really want to put a place diverter on it. How do I tell what type of pump that I have so I can order the right parts. Thanks in advance. This site is great. Here is a pic that I have

The pump you have appears to be a JE "insert pump".
There should be a tag just above the drive line connection inside the boat.
A couple more pics would help.

What is the drive line connection. I have also been reading on here and people talk about a split bowl. What is that. I will get some close up pics later inside and out

What is a split bowl and is it a good one. Does a stainless steel impeller make a big difference. This boat is an 82 baja with 210 original hours on it.

A split bowl is a g style bowl.... it has the 8 bolts on the outside of the boat that allow you to bolt on a droop or other accessories. Thats why everyone wants to convert the older c style to a "split bowl".

When I am getting the place diverter and droop snoot should I get a wedge also. I am just using this for fun and would like to get a big rooster tail. How about a stainless steel impeller and does the size on the impeller make it faster ect like a prop

For your application the factory aluminum impeller is more than sufficient. If you start building horsepower north of 600-700, then you should seriously consider a bronze or stainless impeller.
I would recommend starting with the Place Diverter and see how your hull reacts to the adjustability. If you find yourself running the diverter down to keep the boat from porpoising (bouncing the bow) when cruising, you will find that adding the wedge will reduce the amount of down motion in the nozzle, and make it more annoying when you aren't playing with the roost.
As for the question about "impeller size"... for best results the impeller needs to be matched to the engine and unless you have a serious "big budget" build going on, you'd be better off just running what you have and have fun with it.

You sir have a jb pump, the oil fills are so close together should only be like 3" apart.

A ride plate will help keep the hull set at mid range to wot especially when using a diverter. You can pull the intake an have it machined to except a shoe or buy the bolt on one without removing intake. Do only one mod at a time as the slightest adjustments will either be a +/- on overall performance.
