I have a 1982 panther jet and i have to replace the oil in the jet drive, not the motor. How many quarts does it hold and should I use gear oil or hydraulic fluid or what? thanks.
What about the other pumps? Berkeley, jacuzzi and the others.

I go to Martinez most of the time and with how shallow it is at times I feel way more comfortable in my 18 foot jet.
-
Nah...got mad love for my Jetboat Brethern...never been ta' Martinez is it a pretty good size? I like Apache and Havafew and Parker in between. ^-^
-
If you wanted to just cruise you could go for hours! And the sand bars are a pretty good size if you just want to beach the boat and set up for the day and just throw back some cold ones.

Does yer avitar have undies on?? Goddamn shes hot! :P

I wouldn't have responded quite like you did JD but I have to admit I was a little disappointed in the direction this thread went.
Maybe I'm just too old. :-\

Guys,
try to keep the nonsence and banter in the WarZone (http://www.socaljetboats.com/index.php?board=26.0) forum. I am guilty of it too since I was the instigator of this one....
Sorry Dr Jeff

Who did? By giving me a link to panther's website? If I wanted to search the net for answers I would have. I posted here because I am too lazy to search the net for answer's. All I was hoping for was "3 qt's of 90 wt, jeffreydoctor". To which I would have replied. Thank you. =)

Do to lack of smilies in your post , I'll just answer the part of your question that is of greatest importance to me and everything else will be secondary and should be taken with a grain of salt as this is the internet .
JC - being the most common on a 21' boat is actually the best in theory I guess since the viens in the bowl extend clear down to where the nozzle is thus giving you good flow . This bowl configuration doesnt give you the adjustability of a split bowl . With lower HP numbers , you dont really want adjustability , you want better flow .
JE - Just looks like a set back JC to me , other than the hand hole being outside the hull and your thrust point being further back , which are all pluses .
JF - I can only assume that the JF is a mutation of the JE . I dont know .
JG - Is actually a newer version of an old JB . Both being split bowls and coincidently both having the same parts to a certain extent . What the split bowl offers is adjustabily to add a droop , mini droop , straight droops , wedges , extension and anything else people can dream up . All this hardware really benefits you in a 18er or something light . A 21'er would need alot of HP to really benifit from all this extra hardware and adjustability .
Everything I've learned was from reading and asking alot of dumb questions . I still ask alot of dumb questions just to get the people who do know there shit to spill as much info as possible , even if I aleady know the answer . You can never have enough info !
I hope that some one will correct me if there is any false or bad info I may dish out . If no one is learning from others experience , then its not worth having a jetboat IMO.
Here's a link with some good reading , but not much history .
