Looking for my pop's Caliber 1
« on: April 10, 2019, 01:56:16 PM »
Hey all... ill make this short and not so sweet. My dad passed away some years back and my step mom went cold on my sisters and I. She had been letting his Caliber 1 named "Curt & Debs Squirter" rot away in the front yard all these years. I made multiple attempts to talk with her, buy some of his stuff and got zero positive response. Could not even get a flipping tank top of his. Anyways, the boat is now gone. She had to have sold it. Has anyone seen or heard of anyone purchasing this boat in the past couple weeks? It sat in front of his house on Cisco Dr in Lake Havasu City.

Thank you,

Sorry about your dad and the trouble with the stepmom. You might also want to post up on the SoCalJetBoat Facebook group page. You should also try RiverDavesPlace forum, RD’s Lounge, as there is more traffic and ALOT of Havasu people. You might catch a lead.

I have a similar story. My dad passed when I was 16 and my uncle bought our boat. But he was willing to sell it back to me whenever I wanted it. And a few years later I got it and still have it.
I’ve read a lot of threads about people looking for old family boats. It’s a cool story to have but I kind of feel pressured to keep it even though I would like to get something a bit bigger and family-friendly.
Plus if your boat sat outside in Havasu for some years, it might need some serious work. Just something to think about in case you do find it. It’s a good looking boat.
Best of luck.

Thanks Dave,

I have thought about the damage thats been done being that its been sitting in billion degree weather, but im up for the challenge. I love the size and style of that boat.... Im a single dude so no need for anything bigger. Definitely understand the feeling that you HAVE to keep it cause it was your pops... but im sure he would understand if you sold it to get something bigger/faster/cooler... The only thing I have of my dads is this older mig welder.... I could always use a bigger machine, but this little squirt gun works ok for me.. and its all i have of his so I keep it. ha  :)
