Anybody wanna help me and my buddy out this weekend. I'm picking up a new ride in socal and taking it to havasu for the day Saturday. We are looking for some good areas to hit on the lake, also looking for a good area/place to stay Friday night. Any advice is appreciated, thanks

An 18 or 19 on Havasu is sketchy at best
Needles or Bullhead would be a better choice.
Oh and the Laughlin casinos for rooms

If the new ride is a traditional sized jet boat I'd recommend staying away from Lake Havazoo. You'll have a better chance of not being swamped if you stay on the river.
The Bluewater Casino in Parker is a good place to stay, has a calm marina to check things out in the new float if needed, and the Parker Strip is pretty cool unless it's a weekend.

X2 on blue water
You couldn't pay me to take my boat on Havasu. You might be alright on a Friday but def not on weekends. Parker is a lot mellower

Hey there, congrats on the new purchase. Cool deal making a road trip out of it.
Havasu is a beautiful lake. 1 day to check it out is a tight timeline so I'll keep it short... My advice... Launch at Havasu Marina on the island, idle thru the channel and check out London Bridge, go up river thru the gorge (one of the most beautiful spots) and keep heading up until you go under the I 40 bridge, check out the Topock Marina to your right and Pirates Cove to the left. My favorite is Topock but some young single bucks like you might like Pirates better. Don't drink too much at either place because Havasu is patrolled regularly. Now, IF you still have some time, head back down in the direction you came from and go around the island where the London Bridge is (stay right), continue on and check out Copper Canyon; it's easy to find on the right side because of the buoys near the entrance.
There are countless other gems to discover on this lake but that would be a great start.
Lodging... Island Inn Hotel would work, it's right next to the launch ramp:
1300 McCulloch Blvd N
Lake Havasu City, AZ 86403
Have fun.

Remember guys, he said this is on his bucket list...
It's also an off weekend and the season hasn't even started; all of the monster boats are still getting their drives rebuilt. lol

That's at least a 50 mile round trip
A loooong ways in a squirt boat....untested
Quite ambitious for a newcomer
good luck

I was thinking the same thing! Might want to test how far you can go on gas, how the boat is going to run and what problems it's going to give you. ( I hope none! ) If it was me I'd do what Steve-O suggested, but stay closer to the Island. If you have a second day you should head down to Parker. Much more small boat friendly and there is a LOT to do on the strip. Anyway you do it! Have fun and congrats on the new boat!

My dad lives in havasu I have taken my 18 foot jet out there more than once. Friday morning is nice. The rest of the weekend is hot or miss with wind and crazy huge boats almost taking you out. If it's windy hold on tight same if it's body. I would go with what everyone else is saying. Blue water is nice and Laughlin is nice. I think Laughlin is more bang for your buck. More than one place to stay and gamble.

Keep in mind its spring break, so unless your gonna hang out in the channel. I'd stay away from havasu, even parker gets pretty washed out on big weekends.

I literally just got home from havasu. We left yesterday at 12:30 and I am welcomed back home with a new boat by it being 34 degrees out and snowing it's ass off...but it being missouri and weird weather, it stopped already and is sunny now...

Again, I really want to thank all of you that helped me with all the info and advice and help. I greatly appreciate it! Yall helped make my 3,500 plus mile round trip adventure amazing and I got to cross something off my bucket list. So thank yall. The first day we put in at pirates cove and drove around there and test it out and then got some dinner there. Then the next day we went to the island and put in at site 6 I believe it was, could be wrong though idk. We put in early at like 8:30 to be all the traffic and craziness. We were able to idle though the channel and under the bridge. And then we went up river a good ways and then came back and pulled the boat out and almost ran out of gas. But it was totally worth it! It is absolutely beautiful out there!!! Me and my buddy like it so much that we plan to come back in a couple of years and he is gonna bring his 32' fountain with us. Thanks again everybody!!! And I am jealous that yall get to play there all the time. We loved the needles as well. Here are a few pics
