IM AWARE....i already told momma that...but it makes for difficult evening plans, hanging out at the bar and stuff
got to find things for them to do...area closes pretty early...im not sure what all of the groups evening plans are...

just hung up with bob 2day after booking my room, and only me and keith "crewcheif" have booked rooms there are 3 cabins available they are cheap not sure i would go that route, but yeah...lets get rolling guys were about three weeks away...hopefully skip can pull something off...and brad too!

For the people leaving SoCal and heading to Lake Mead, which way are you planning on going?

I just ran the driving directions through Google and found that the route through Henderson NV (I-15) is about 60 miles shorter than going through Needles (I-40).

Is there still road construction on the 15?  (been a while since running to Vegas).

It is shorter, but you're going to have to go over Hoover Dam, never fun.

Maybe or Maybe not, I changed my reservation and dropped Thrusday night.  I might leave later on Thursday and stop closer to the lake.

Or I might leave early Friday and caravan with some of the SoCal crew.

last time i was on the 15 (a few weeks ago) there still is construction going north from mountain pass(top of hill leaving baker) to state line.....also ive been seeing highway patrol hanging out alot both sides of the freeway with radar leaving baker going north and entring baker going south...seem to hang out right in the middle of that long grade..radar will pick you up a long way out....(ps thanks brad for the use of the radar detector  ;D)...

ive checked the route through nipton to searchlight to the dam and its 10 mins longer.....best to go into vegas take the 215 east and go accross the dam.....

1): Take I-15 north toward Barstow/Las Vegas. Then get on the I-215 east to the I-515 south toward Downtown Las Vegas/Phoenix. I-515 then becomes Highway 93/95 south. Continue on Highway 93/95 south to Boulder City. Go past the Vons in Boulder City and turn Left to continue on Highway 93 toward the Hoover Dam (watch for the signs). Go past Hoover Dam. Between Milemarkers 19 and 20, you will see a sign saying "Temple Bar Resort, use Left lanes'. Turn left. Temple Bar is located approximately 28 miles from the turnoff.

2): Take I-15 north toward Barstow/Las Vegas. In Barstow, take the I-40 east toward Kingman. In Kingman, Get on the I-93/95 north toward Las Vegas. Just past Milemarker 20, make a right turn at the sign for Temple Bar Marina. Temple Bar is approximately 28 miles from the turnoff.

I have a question. And it's gonna make you laugh, but is it the Temple bar Resort we made our reservations at? I called Bob at the number posted here when I reserved the room, but for the life of me can't remember.

Trying to program it into my GPS, is it the Lake Mead Rec Area West entrance?

I will be there.

I walked in the door after work today with my mind set on getting ready to go and my wife tells me the oven won't work on bake  :banghead: , So I spend the next couple hours disassembling, probing, testing and reassembling to determine I had used up what daylight I had and still didn't fix the damn thing  :mad:

If I order parts tomorrow I should be able to tackle the problem with a better mindset after the weekend  ;D

May borrow a friends boat and will have some extra seats and cooler space...if anyone that wasnt going to go because of lack of a ride let me know.

I figure, chip in for a lil gas and help launch and hook up and you got a ride!

It will only be for Saturday....will be there early but only staying till 6pm(need to be loaded at 6) have plans that night!
