GROWING UP BORN IN 61 MY FAMILY ALWAYS WENT ON VACATION TO LAKE MEAD CAMPED IN BOULDER CAMP GROUND IN THE CORNER CAMP SIGHT RIGHT BY THE STORE SPENT A MONTH EVERY YEAR ON THE LAKE ITS SAD TO THINK ITS SO LOW I MISS GOING THERE WE HAD A 14 FT MAHOGONY ALLEN BUILT IN 62 HAD A 45 HORSE MERC SKI FROM 7-3 ALL DAY WENT TO THE OUT DOOR THEATER I REMEMBER THE BIG WALL ON THE LAKE WATER WAS ALWAYS GLASS IS IT ALL STILL THERE HAERD THERES ILANDS WEAR THERE WASNT ANY BEFORE NEED SNOW IN THE ROCKIES ITS A REAL BUMMER

this is a good thread to follow and see how low the lake really is....sounds like if you were camping in boulder campground then you were in boulder basin....none of the marinas are where they used to be or they are closed down...govt wash is closed down, and lake mead marina no longer exist...it is now called boulder harbor, and they call lake mead marina were they moved it to is called hemmingway...overton no longer exist, and i dont think echo is going to make it much longer either...we really need something to happen otherwise it will be a river again

HEY NORDIE IT SUCKS ALL THE MEMORIES THERE HOW COME POWEL STILL HAS WATER WHEN WE WENT TO MEAD THERE WAS 517 MILES OF SHORE LINE AND WAS 500 FEET DEEP IN PARTS

they keep every lake sustained at a certain water level except mead!!!! powel actually releases us the most water for us to hold, but im guessing that the water released from mead is all for pleasure, but mostly for farming...why they dont sustain mead is beyond me, but if they turned mead into a river again it wouldnt bother me....less boat traffic
