Its like 4-5 miles tops. No further than driving from Big River to the Cove.

Its a real crap shoot most of the time. If there is any constant wind over 10mph, the lake turns into a monster, which is often. Weekends last weekend where there wasnt even a slight breeze, the lake is amazing, which is rare. Its supposed to be another good day tomorrow, so we are goin for it again.
Just spit on it and shove it in.
Its not that bad jim, if the w is blowing hard at the house, we don't go to mead. I have pulled out of the marina and taken rollers over the bow, and turned right back around and put it on the trailer. Good thing though is on the side side of the dam there is a place called willow beach. Waters always cold but you got nice river all the way to lake mohave.
