Best place to launch in Blythe
« on: May 18, 2018, 03:59:56 PM »
Hey guys can anyone recommend a good place to launch in Blythe? We usually go to Lake Mohave or Needles but I live a bit closer to Blythe and want to try it. Thanks

I’ve been down to McIntyre a few times. Has a lagoon to launch in. Big parking lot with a fuel pump at the lot. I’ve always camped there, not sure what they charge for a day pass...

Riviera is also an option. Never launched there but both places are pretty popular.

Riviera is right at the freeway and McIntyre is 6mi or so south

McIntyre, hands down.[/size]
Just a reminder: water levels are typically lower on Friday to exercise additional caution.

Quechuan Park which (ca side north of i10) is nice. 12$ to launch there. They only have two lanes. The Cove (ca side south of i10) is also a great option. It is 15$ to launch there, but they have a lot more lanes. I think it might be 6. Both have lagoons so you’re not launching straight into the current. The Cove has a small store that has ice and different snacks if you need it.

I live in Blythe. For u and an fellow boaters or fisherman. My input being on the water 1-3 days a week. Monday threw Thursday are the highest days Friday is always the lowest. Saturday and sundays are average. If you’d like you can use a website that uploads river levels daily https://www.usbr.gov/lc/riverops.html click on present day and scroll till u see I-10 bridge or Mcintyre and it will show a level daily. Also I’ve learn 5k gph flow is okay but keep an eye out anything about 7k is good. Sometimes it hits 13k gph then it’s a free for all you can launch and go anywhere. Hope this helps. By the way the water flow is controled by agricultural and farmers watering not if we want to have fun.
