Title: Cant help from Loving Blythe
Post by: Rodbender on September 08, 2008, 09:53:48 AM
You got to love a place where you and drop your boat in the water, load up a pole & a shotgun, and day camp with your fishing line in the water, dropping white wings with a 12 ga., and take a break from it all and go get "your jet" on.

What a great weekend!
The count
2 lg mouth Bass in the 2.5 lb range
1 sm mouth bass in the 2.5 lb range
limit on dove

Not too bad for a place 1 1/2 hours from home!

Not sure I can describe this adequately but here goes...

One year we were floating downriver between WaterWheel and Aha.  Up ahead is a guy anchored about 20 feet of the edge of the water. There is no beach to speak of, just a cliff about 15-20 feet high covered in brush.  I think he had someone on top scaring up the birds cuz he was ready.  When they flew overhead he was blasting 'em and they were dropping right into the boat!  He had it down to a science, didn't see him have to go into the water for any of 'em.

My name is GlassCutter and I too love Blythe.  A sickness for which there is no cure.

People tell me go to Rehab, but I say NO No NO...

Well brotheren, It seems like everytime i have been there in the past year is the weekend Aqua is out of commission or MIA. I go to Mayflower and I have made the trip to McIntyre a few times always looking for your boat. We will hook up one of these days. Just a matter of timing!
I knew you were there this weekend, but the Rodbender was on a mission.

Hey Rodbender, where are you catching the largemouth at?  I havent seen any largemouth that big up there.  Just little guys about 11" long.

Early moring in the marsh areas. Look for eddies and slower water, thats where they hang. I found a inlet just above the dam with some lunkers, but couldnt get them to jump. The one i did catch were full of crawdads.
The birds seem to be attracted to buckshot!

Of the three i caught (2 lg & 1 smallie) they were small in comparison to the "Lunkers" I am referring to. i know it sounds like a fish story, but i would have to guess the lunkers were in the 4 to 6 lb range. I mean Frikkin lunkers!
