I am a noob regarding jet boats. I am looking at buying a $350 mini jet boat with a doen jet and a datsun 1200 engine. It is a "bare shell" and has been stripped of almost everything but the engine and jet. As I am a highschool student looking to get a new project funds are a majour issue.

Get on the Datsun Sundance forum. There is a ton of information with those guys.
Pretty cool little project.
Just a word from experience, "boat and budget" have no business being said I the same paragraph, much less sentence.
I want to say Castoldi made those little pumps, to say they're scarce is an understatement.
