Title: Bennett place diverter
Post by: roger m on August 22, 2017, 08:07:07 PM
I'm restoring an old Challenger and have replaced the Bennett place diverter pump and installed a new cylinder the problem is it only works in one direction with full force, in reverse it gurgles and spins but only moves slightly and seems to pump air into the lines. I've googled extensively but cannot find a diagram that details exactly how to plumb, wire, and switch for a one cylinder two way actuation, anyone got an answer? It's frustrating because its so simple but no combination of plumbing or wiring has made any difference.

How many times did you operate the switch up and down by chance? According to place diverter I believe to fully prime the pump run the switch up and down 10-15 times

Another thing I had to do also was run a constant batt power to the switch and also have a negative from the batt to the pump itself too

U have to bleed it , one side at a time , crack the nut on the hose and hold the button for up till u get no bubbles and repeat for the other one , did this to my buddy's diverter an works awesome
