Are the headers jet or V drive?

Ron is csared of V-Drives, sez there is to much hardware hangin down there. So Im guessing they are for a jet.

As for the headers; I have a V drive set and they will only clear about 12" from the rear port to the bottom of the collector. Whith my set up these only leave an 1/8th of clearance, I would like to have 15" plus if possible.

Sorry the headers are for a jet.

Tracy, there's no rust, just little pits and scratches. I just took some wonder cloth to one and it looks alright. A polish with some abrasives in it would probably do a better job.  Ron

Sorry I led you to miss understand - I have a jet boat (Schiada 19), but I need to make sure they will clear the transum. The ones I metioned will not.

Too bad, they must actually be V drive headers, but thank you for checking.

I wa told they were jet boat headers when I bought them. I just measured my old school Gil headers on my Rogers and there 9 1/2"

I also have a set of old school Gil"s, at that point they measure the same as you say. They should angle up after that, but hey if they match the Gil's about a foot back they should be good.

what size carter carbs
I was told they were 600's. Not sure where the numbers are, they've been powder coated over. Came off of a running motor, but i'm sure they need going thru.

The numbers were stamped in on the forward edge of the base plate near the mounting bolt.

The most common Carters were 625cfm but you could get 500cfm also.

Thanks Keith, but I couldn't find any numbers under the powder. The primaries are 1 7/16 in dia. and have a number 2-185 on them. The secondaries are 1 11/16 in dia. and have a number 2-281.   Ron

I should have googled it first. Venturi measurements are primaries 1 3/16 and secondaries are 1 9/16 which make them 625's

No, seems like everytime I see one come up for sale, its gone that day. Mouser had one for sale yesterday and its gone already. I saw it right after he posted it. I probably should have bought it, but instead I bought another 4 bolt 454 short block from a friend. Could be the motor for the Rootin Tootin Raspberry. Trying to collect parts as the deals come up. I think there's a scoop on ebay I saw the other day with a starting bid of 75.00. Ron
