cj222, what kind of welding do you do and how much volume could you handle hours wise?, just thinking out loud...
MIG, TIG, Heli ARC, Stick, Orbital? I may be able to wrangle some piece work for you (meaning paid by the piece ;D )

I do mig, stick, and at work all Tig on stainless, mild steel, cromoly, and aluminum. Im certified for mig and stick. I can do 3 or 4 hours worth of work after I get home from work!

-
My dad has a house in Mohave valley soooo......What else can you do for me? ???
-
How about extending my boat trailer 4ft longer w/ some more 4" c-channel, and a couple 3" box braces? i did my eliminators trailer that way @ my old work in torrance under the supervision of my bosses but i dont know how to do it on my own...you interested?

ya I am interested! I did that to one of my old boat trailers before. It had way too much tounge weight.

yeah! boost has the eliminator right now, but when it was mine, it had 'reverse' tongue weight!...and it towed like ass...so i thought if i just put 85lbs. of metal on the front, and moved the boat up 3 or so inches it would be better, and it rode like a dream!...so, being that i can go get the metal @ a great price, how much would it be to cut off a small part of the front section, cut out the crappy braces, and weld up the extention, new 3X3 braces, and put a winch mount on it, instead of a floater bar? (21ft cruiser) ill help as much as i can but im not a good welder...thanx for the interest, ill post a few pics up later tonight after i get off work.

If I have something fabbed by a certified welder do I still need a deputy inspector on site as a witness?
Thanks, Mark
-
I believe if it is pre fabbed in a shop you dont need a deputy inspector. only if the welding is on site
-
Thanks,
I have a backyard patio cover that needs a fair amount of welding, but it needs to be done by a certified welder. I ordered the steel (6" x 6" and 4" x 4", 0.250" wall) pre-cut to the correct angles and lengths. Most welding could be done in a shop with final assembly and welds done on-site. The overall is around 20' x 20', 8' tall at the perimeter. PM me if this is something you might be interested in.
Cheers, Mark

I will be honest with ya. That is a little too big of a job for me to build by myself. Plus I dont really have the time to do that type of job with my job that I work 40hrs a week at. Im looking for smaller side work for the time being. Thanks for asking though! ;)

No Problem!

I would give IRONMAN a call for something like that. I believe he waterjets all the engine plates that he makes.
Give him the dimensions and let the machine do it right.

thanks Ill try that
