Thinking about picking this up and I am willing to pay for somebody's time to go with me to look at it and make sure it's in good shape...  Anyone who knows about outboards interested?  Glenn??  😜

Go for a test drive. At the very least compression test on the motors. Power heads can be pricey, esp if those are 2 smokers

Mine was stiff when working it back and forth on the trailer.
Once I got it on the water and under power, it was amazing!

Where at?
X2 on the compression check.
You will also want to give the motors a wiggle. This should have solid motor mounts IMO.

Near Dana Point.  Your profile says you're in Morgan Hill which isn't feasible to drive 6+ hours down to SoCal  haha  I guess I thought you were closer

The other boat I'm looking at is pretty much the same boat but with a 468 BBC/bravo 1 set up.  What are the pros/cons of twin outboards compared to a single I/O?

IMHO I would go with the I/O. You simply cannot miss with an I/O.

JMHO.

If your  going with eggbeater's I would call Dave at DCB & set up an appointment & have the boat checked out = motor's, control's ,transom strength etc etc / DCB should have a flat $rate$ for that= it will be worth it = every time I have dealt DCB they are very fair & professional / If you are going with an I/O I would call Greg at GS Marine in Norco & have the boat checked out . A Little $$ out of pocket now could save you a lot of $$$ later !!

The issue with having Greg check out the I/O is that the boat is located in Havasu so unless I talk him into taking a road trip with me, that's not exactly ideal.  Can anyone recommend a shop in Havasu I could take it to when I head out there to check it out?

Depends on what outboard motors you have on the boat, brand and size? with the twins you got double the motors to maintain. The twins are  nice if one motor goes down you can still get back to the dock. And the twins are lighter than the i/o. The twins are going to be a lot louder than the i/o is. Being that I have twins and had 13 years of good luck, until now and have to rebuild one. Most people can work on a chevy motor.
