I posted up a few months back about buying my first Jet Boat. Well the deal was finally made. I purchased a 1988 Hocking 21'. The boat was bought from the LA Boat show in 1988 by an employee of mine. It's been stored indoors its whole life and has 238 hrs on the meter.454 Hardin Marine BBC, Birkley Jet and I guess some nice options. This being my first jet boat I'm not sure what to look for. I will try and post some pics tomorrow. Any knowledge of these boats would be cool, I can't find much on the internet. Thanks in advance for your help, Scott

Nice looking boat.  My first thought was also "Eliminator".  The 22 Howards that I've seen (in pics - we don't have many jets/V-drives in my neck of the woods) have a more rounded foredeck.  And I'm not sure that I've ever seen a picture of a Howard with bow seating.  Could be my locality though.

If it's really as nice as the pictures seem to show, and the engine checks out mechanically (do a compression check as a minimum, and make sure you take it for a test drive), I might consider going even higher on the price.  This is coming from a definitive tight-wad.

As long as the interior is in good shape , and the floor, stringers and transom are solid (no rot or sponginess) I think it might be hard to find a low-hour, garaged boat that's really nice, with one owner no less.

Thanks for the feedback Matt.  Im going to pick it up.  Do you boat in the Ozarks?  I sea trialed a boat up there a few years ago. That place is awesome! ended up buying my last boat from the Great Lakes and shipped it to Vegas. First time I spent that kind of money without seeing the boat in person. It was my first boat 36' outlaw, turned out better than expected. Its funny everyone in that scene is always trying to go bigger. Fun boat just useless for anyhting but crushing waves or floating. I was lookin at a 27' Hallett and then this deal came up. a lot less boat but I think it will be a lot of fun. Kinda nastalgic.
