Anyone have any ideas where I can find a couple of the original (oem) metal/chrome Bahner emblems, or some accurate aftermarket ones?

« on: March 20, 2012, 11:07:01 PM »Silly question, just was wondering who does,has or won't tow with the boat cover on during long trips? Just cleaned mine up and was thinking of putting mine on to parker. I would think it would create more drag so means shitty gas mileage.
Actually the cover should improve gas mileage slightly as it prevents air from pocketing inside the boat interior, however unless it is a super tight custom heavy material cover, as advised in the other posts, I would also advise against it. I have a custom snap cover for the cockpit on my Liberator, it makes a hugh difference when towing with/without, but this is a cuddy cabin style hull and deep, catches a lot of air. The full mooring cover for it is not used for towing, just when parked. I just towed a Bahner 1800 miles home, came with a real nice custom cover but did not use, would rather take my chances cleaning the boat a little than rubbing damage.

Hello members, I recently purchased a 1985 Bahner 21', BBC/Berkley etc. My understanding is that the Bahner is a quality boat, rides good etc, but I'd like to find out all the information possible about this boat brand, how it relates quality wise, weight, performance etc. with the other boat brands in this class. I've read the stories about Bahner himself, what happened etc, but I'm more interested in the design/quality/originality of his boat building. The boat is in very good condition, I'm the third owner, has been very well cared for and all original. I plan on restoring this boat, about all it really needs (so far) is some minor repainting of the faded trim areas. Thanks
