Too bad we don't have a trip on havasu. Its not too far from Windsor to the river and there is the big sandbar. Water levels are never an issue there.

Sounds like weak valve springs. They are not closing fast enough. In a new Holley with the correct fuel pressure it should be close with the jetting and most likely it will not be that lean. A carburetor only passes so much air. I have had this problem an it was valve springs.

Gordon head through havasu and jacks auto parts on Palo verde will have some gaskets. Also if you want to stop by my shop I can give you a hand. We can use some high temp permatex to fix it up as well. Pm me if you want. I have a shop here in havasu.
