Its got mercruiser stickers all over it, is in a 28' v drive boat has a big yellow sticker on the passenger side valve cover that says right rotation and the btc timing marks start on the drivers side of the motor. timing mark tab itself is on drivers side of motor. refrenced as if it was in a car

So i was scoping eavrything out today and my 454 is a right rotation, clockwise looking at the flywheel motor i assumed it would be standard rotation since it came out of a single engine boat, though it was a v drive. So um ya......

Alright so it seems like i can get away with 4' to the dog house 4.5' without setback. tyvm Daniel. I wana make a doghouse so i look like grampa rollin up with a fish platform out back, since i have a deep hull, till i hit the go petal or you hear the bb thumpin. i wana add the alu logs and intake as i go along will start with what i have. will deff start with alu bell mount, and front mount. Is that all you guy's runnin are the 4 ? or do you use the stock motor mounts also ? Kind of leary of boltin a 454 to glassed in 2x4's. almost wana make an aluminum frame and glass it in instead. But i will prolly go the 2x4 rout.

I havent acually weighed anything. Factory spec for my hull is 16'3" 83" beam 1150 lbs like i said its a deep v so my sideboards are like 28" deep. I have a bone stock merc 454 has all the cast iron v drive exhaust manafolds on it and eavrything what i'v seen is between 330 and 385 hp and 850, compared to 650 - 700 for the truck motor. Again this is just from net surfing, havent acually weighed anything.. I have the short bow like i said, gunna bust the tape measure out to see if i can get a bench in front of the doghouse. How much real estate does the bb eat up from the transom with a setback or non ?

Alright somebody needs to talk me out of this because a bb chev is just way to big to stuff in this boat...... Or is it? Well it's a 73 searay 16 180 srv. deep v. it has a 115 merc tower outboard on it. I just so happen to have a 454 pull out from a v drive boat..... Don't get me wrong i would rather go ej 22 tt because i could make the same hp. with half the weight, but at about tripple the cost because i already have the 454. i could sell the outboard for funds for the pump. i'v seen alot of 350's in 16's i'v seen alot of 454's in 18's they all had a long nose. My boat has a short closed bow with a tank already under it. the hull weighs 1150 without motor dry. A 454 with pump is gunna come in at around 1000. the outboard hangin off it now weighs 330...... i could strip the windshield etc. cut the floor out glass in stringers to the bulkhead without taking the to off then flip the hull to fit the pump. hmm
