« on: June 30, 2009, 06:15:02 PM »
ok guys.
i have read threw most of the floor replacement threads. one thing that i have a question on is this. when you take out the old floor there is all that foam in there. do you leave all that out or do you put more back in. none of the threads i have seen show this or mentions  it. thanks. just wondering so i know what to  do when i do mine.

i know most people either hate them or love them. but i have to agree that they are worth it. now i hate being told what to do as do most people but i think this is one time i will agree. i had a cousin who was  traveling down a dirt road and a deer ran out in front of him and totalled his car. now he was hurt somewhat but was able to walk away due to wearing his seat belt.
my boss`s daughter was taking her daughter to school because they missed the bus. she was on the freeway and lost control of the vehicle. she wasn`t wearing her seat belt but her daughter was. she was thrown out of the truck as it rolled and landed on top of her. needless to say she didn`t walk away from that at all. she was only 28 yrs old. her daughter came through it with nothing but some cuts and bruises.
now i do wear mine all the time. i look at it this way... it might save my life one day but why the hell should i give the freaking city, state, whatever my money for not wearing it.  so i guess my rant is over and i can say i believe we all have a right to our own opinion.

yeah the other pages count. this was started for fun but also to post how many pages it would be before the boat was flipped, and on a trailer and at a house somewhere.
so this thread is for you to post how many pages you think it will be before the boat is "claimed" shall we say.
and i guess i could have put a poll on the other thread only i don`t know how so thought this would be good. it is all in fun.

yeah just like that. and like i said in one post something like that has happened to me. i had a set of gauges given to me. i was supposed to pay for them but money got tight and i told him i still wanted them but wasn`t sure when i would be able to pay for them. he sent them to me and said pay when i can and then a couple days later sent an email saying don`t worry just keep them. and then one of the guys had and exhaust sytem that will fit my engine when i get it rebuilt and gave that to me for the shipping cost only. so i try and help when and where i can if possible.
i tell those i can about the site when i can. just to help maybe get more people involved here.

seriously these are a great bunch of guys. they all joke around with each other and we do have fun on here. but when you need something or need some answers just watch  the response you will get. i am still working on getting mine together but have learned so much from these guys just from what they have posted. i am hoping and praying that i can have mine done by this time next yr. hardest thing is the cash for it. limited income doesn`t help you fix up a boat. but i want to do it right the first time so i`m not in a big hurry. i know i will get it done and the way i want it to be the first time out.

that is one of the reasons for the poll thread i made. was thinking maybe i could get some guys to post a number and then want to help you out so that they could "WIN". LOL. but guess that part isn`t working out so well. and yeah it has been an adventure reading about from the first post.and like i said hopefully it will be resolved soon.
and i agree the love of the adventure is most of the fun.

Hey Oc
man like i said if i lived closer i would jump at the chance to help out. looks like a lot fun just getting it flipped. might be when you get it flipped it is worthless but just the planning, staging and what not involved would be worth it to me. hell getta big come-a-long and tie it to one of the boats and flip it over. lol. it has been a lot of fun just reading all of this adventure. hopefully you guys will get it all figured out soon and we will all be loving it when you flip it.

ahh ok gotcha. still gotta love the river and the lakes. one of the things i miss living here in okie town. i found it so funny at first to listen to someone say they are going to the lake for the weekend. i believe the biggest lake here is called Eufala. has something like 600 miles of shoreline i beleive.but when you come from the great lakes area it is hard to call it a lake. but with having been here now for 8yrs i am getting used to it. and with having just gotten certified for diving i would love to go home and be able to dive one of the great lakes.

i know you can it is just that i have a very dry, sarcastic sense of humor and i forget that some people have a hard time, cant understand the way it is meant to be. so i thought i would just respond in the way it was meant to be. all in fun and humor.

are you running the Illinois river or do you take it out on Lake Michigan at all. have seen some great power boat races from there a time or two. i used to live in michigan and i worked in Chi town for about 6-8 mths one time doing cable audit. great town, and great food. found a great little mexican joint that made the best breakfast burrito`s. must have weighed a pound at least.
and hell a little high water is more fun to run with anyways. lol.

it has to come to this because it is all in fun. i know it is hard to get everyone together on a specific time, date, hour to go and get this done. like shallow running said ... if i lived closer i would be all to willing to help. but living in okie town like i do it is really not worth it for me. i also know that if i lived closer to everyone else i could have a ton of help getting my boat done. i have been lucky to find this site and read and learn from all of you guys. i have also been shown the generousity of those on this site towards me with some parts for my boat for either nothing or just shipping charges.
and what really makes this a great site is that we ARE ABLE TO POST something like this and most everyone takes it for how it was meant and that is good natured ribbing. nothing is meant to be mean spirited and if it is taken that way then i apologize for it.

dang  guys
this thread is getting to be longer then 2Sav`s boat thread. figured you all would have had this done and out by now. if only i was closer would be willing to help. and no it isn`t like an hr or two drive. more like 18 hrs.
think i need to start a poll thread on how many pages it is before you all get that there boat out and at someones house, trailer whatever.

The No Wake Zone / Re: JURY DUTY QUESTION
« on: May 12, 2009, 08:21:04 PM »
Hey Coors
do you have kids. say you are divorced and having to do jury duty would be a financial hardship for you and would put you in arrears for your child support.
that is what i did and said to get out of jury duty for myself. and nope didn`t have to do jury duty and wont get another notice to do one for about 2 yrs. at least that is what happened here in okie ville.  good luck.

Hi John
my condolences to you and his family on the loss of your friend and family member. but the one thing is that he died doing what he loved. how many of those we know and loved can say the same thing. knowing he died doing what he loved is great but does not take away the loss and hurt of losing him. and that is one thing i would love to do, die doing something i love. again my condolences to you and his family.
