My set up is as follow
-73 block punched to .060
-73 049 heads all stock excepts for the springs I end up putting on
-Speed pro 20cc domed pistons
-Edelbrock performer 2.0 intake for now will I get the money for a torquer or victor jr.
-holley 800cfm double pumper
And all this will be turning a berkley 12jc with an a-2 impeller

thanks for the info guys.... so I am going to call isky back tomorrow and talk to them again but do u guys think this cam is worth the hassle as far as power goes or do u think I would be fine with the 278 mega cam whick is .525 lift and 278* intake and exhaust would that be a better choice where I might not have to do any mods to the head and still get good power?

Here is where I am loosing sleep this cam has .565 lift will my springs really be able to keep up with this I have 049 heads with dual valve springs and I was not planing on turning this motor over 5-5300 help please if I need the spring I wanna order them now as not to hang up my build I wanna get out on the water befor the season is cometly over lol

I am going to be running exhaust logs with over transom... And I know the intake isn't the best choice but its what I have for now I am planning on switching to a victor jr and some 115cc aluminum head when I get the money together in a few months

So I'm building a 454 for my 1975 21ft hawaiian day cruiser with a berkeley 12jc with an a-2 impeller
I would like to get some opinions on the build
73 Block that is going to .060
73 049 113cc heads
20cc domed pistons.... Should net 10:1 compression
Isky 280 hydrolic flat tapet cam
Hi volume oil pump
Double roller timing kit
King mains and rod bearings .020 over
Edelbrock performer 2.0 manifold
800cfm holley double pumper... Kinda think I need bigger but would like some opinions

Fabrication / question on stringers
« on: June 11, 2013, 08:47:17 AM »
ok to start i have a 76 hawaiian daycruiser project now the stringers are 24 inches the widest mounts i can find for the 460 is 21 inches and i cant use the old mounts cause to say it nicely they are a true hack job and pretty scary so what i wanted to do is thicken the stringers with wood, bolt the wood to the stringers and fiberglass them then the mount would fit correctly... would this work? sorry if this is a stupid question
