Hey guys i am building a new engine for my boat. ITs a Ford 390 board 30 0ver. Heads have ben worked over hardened seats new valves. I herd jet pumps like tork so what is a good camshft choice a hot rv type?   The boat is a 16 foot Tahiti stock pump and impeller. The engine i have now is a pretty stock engine and i would like to break 50 mph. It will do 47.5 mph at  7000 ft elevation any ideas Ted

Hellow fellas I have not posted anything for awhile and I am still a newbe witch is fine i just love this sight and people in it and not in a gay way.My little brother is the one i need some help with. He has been 6 months clean and now he has money and a good job so we can finish his boat. He moved to Elko NV for work( boss though a new start would help) and his boat is still in Wyoming and i don't see him much. Anyway his hull needs new stringers and floor its a 18 foot sanger flatbottom we think. I know you love pics so i will try and get some. Do you guys know a good boat shop near Elko he said he would't mind traveling 4 or 5 hours away. I just want to help him stay out of trouble. And the boat will help him stay busy. Any thoughts or help would be awsome

Trailers / Bunkers or rollers
« on: July 13, 2010, 04:13:14 PM »
I am going to rebuild my trailer it has four very long bunkers on it now. I want to use v-rollers on the keel and just two short bunkers to keep the boat up right on the trailer. My question is are rollers ok to hold the weght of the boat or will they hurt the keel or pull the bottom out of shape. My boat is a sixteen foot Tahiti. Any input would be great thanks Ted C..

Yes, sorry from the water pump bypass to the snails. Its set up how you described.Other than I don't have a therostst housing just a block off plate.I trust what you guys are telling me its my dad who thinks I need to slow the water coming out so I don't starv it. Hes is a v-drive guy and runs a neovane pump so he is confused on how my cooling system works. The lakes I run in at home are 55 60 degrees. The lake I go to in Utah is a little warmer 65-75 in August. What kind of presure does my jet put out? It's a berk. I just don't want to brake my block or screw it up.Another thing is my temp sender in in my intakemaifold don't know if that would make a difference.

Would that cause cavitation in the block and air locks?
