Ooo some diamond plate...good idea!! I know I don't have any nighttime close up pics, but I took every piece of aluminum, gave it a brushed look with my wire wheel, then spray painted them all with glow in the dark paint, then sprinkled them with glow in the dark glitter, then clear coated. The brown has brown glitter in it and the ivory has silver glitter to match the hull, cleared everything once again. Turned out pretty slick but shes gonna be a bitch to keep clean or wash lol
The trailer had roller on it, fuck those things haha so I retrofitted 2-2x8x12s and 2- 2x8x8s, left all the hardware loose, set the boat, drove around the block to settle the hull, came home, snuged everything down and now she's a happy camper :) the hull is a 75 beachcraft. Oh I moved the axle back 1 foot to handle the weight of the 460 and the set back 12je a little better and apply a few more pounds of tongue weight, now the whole trailer is even smooth and the boat is ultimately the happiest! :)

Jet Pumps / Injection of water through pump
« on: September 01, 2015, 09:43:24 PM »
So I understand that water is injected through the motor via the pump while it's in the water..but when the boat is on the trailer at home and the garden hose is pumping wafer through the engine, does that water also get injected back through the pump? I'm just thinking, "how does the pump get lubricated during on the trailer test n tune?"..besides the oil that's in the pump..doesn't the pump use water to cool as well?..

Hulls / Re: 1975 beachcraft

Haha thanks guys, first trip out will be the weekend after labor day. Small lake called baker lake up here in whatcom county washington..
Plans?.. well, I'm not sure yet lol the guy I bought it from builds engines, so I'm not too worried in that department but the pump (12je) is stock. I'm gonna take the boat this winter to skagen boats in Snohomish Washington and have him work on the pump, hull, wiring and interior. I'm gonna keep the hull the same beer bottle brown and cream color, just needs a little elbow grease. The interior is going to get all new frames, foam and brown leather diamond tuck with black piping. Any work to the pump, hull, etc, will be decided after a couple runs.

I do have a great friend that's comming out with me (he's taking his waverunner haha) to help wrench and/or rescue...

It'll eventually get a stereo and a Bimini..for now, let's make it run right..

Thanks guys, I'll be posting more as the winter goes along...

I never heard of that..would it be even recommended on a street application? I just watch a "1406 tune up" video yesterday and the dude mentioned something about oxidizing..didn't say how it happens or how to clear it up...
