I've run headers in cars for years and never gave  a thought about overheating or damaging things under the hood. So if they are exposed to open air wouldn't they run even cooler? I thought the only reason for injection of water was to keep the chrome from blueing. Am I wrong?

No swim steps and the only thing underwater was the intake. I was hoping someone would say once the pump gets going water is discharged that might be entering through the intake section. I am going to check thoroughly for holes, etc. that may be allowing water to enter. I was really hoping for a river ready boat but it is used and getting up there in years like me

I'm not sure where to ask this question so I put it on the general forum. I just bought a 1987Caliber jet and plopped it in the water and of course the battery was dead! I brought it home and it's taking a charge but I noticed a few quarts of water in the bilge. It hasn't even been run yet and was only in the water a maybe 10 minutes. Any ideas on acceptable bilge leakage? I will take it out again tomorrow and try to get it started and look for the leaks if it starts.
