Man... I thought for sure it would've been you. I had a chance at it this morning but for some reason I just couldn't pull the trigger. It will make someone a nice boat! I'm still betting it's someone from one of the boards though.

You are talking about the 1976 Rogers for sale in Houston?
No didn't buy. I am talking with the owner, getting some background on the current condition of  His Rogers TR, & the work he has had done to it since he purchased it in 2014.
Seems like he started with a real nice boat. It had some cracks in the gel (on the freeboard around where the gas tanks are) that he had repaired correctly, + got the hull all cut & buffed. Professional work done on the pump.
cut out the gas tanks & reset them to be more removable. Sounds like he went through just about everything else & repaired or replaced. Guages, cables, carpet, etc.
The 460 is in pieces, though.  Apparently some of the machine work on the block & heads has done, parts for the internals purchased, it that sounds like as far as he is going down that road.
I am trying to figure out, whether what he might want for the hull/pump, the cost of getting the 460 together, a trip out to Houston to inspect it, either shipping or driving it back 1,500 or so miles is going to somehow fit in my budget.
It looks, as of this moment, that that boat might be out of my reach financially, but, ya never know….


BTW. What was your cousin's take on the boat?

I was thinking 76 Bonneville may have bought it from his post but everything you said is the same thing my cousin was told. He had a guy go look at it and it is straight but when he got serious about buying it... the guy didn't want to sell it less the engine but the engine isn't put together and then some of the parts were missing for the engine.
