Last year I had a bunch of fiberglass work done on my boat by an industry-well-known, long time East Anaheim boat builder, repair shop.   I've always had the best experiences at this shop in the past over many years, but this last go around has me bummed out on his service and not sure what to do now.   The boat is an 01 Commander that was always stored indoors so it was in great condition.   

This boat repair shop / boat builder did a great job on the fiberglass repairs.   Where the problems ensued was when he left the boat outside in his yard(uncovered) for months on end while the work was completed, when time permitted.   This work was done during the Summer from June until September during the hottest months.   I didn't think anything of the boat being left out as I had 100% faith in this shop's work and knowledge of what to do and not to do.   Well, as you can see the interior likely has been permanently damaged by the sun since it was left outside, uncovered by this repair shop/builder.   

I asked about this when I picked the boat up and let him know my displeasure at the interior damage, and he starting making excuses saying the boat is almost 20 years old, interior does not last forever, the damaged white interior was like that when I dropped the boat off for repair, and  so on and so forth.   Just to confirm that I knew the actual condition of the boat interior, I looked back to pictures right before the boat went in to him and can see none of the interior was yellowed- sun damaged just prior to it going in to this boat builder's shop for work.   The picture of the boat in the water is the weekend before the boat went in for work.   Lilly white interior in that picture and others from the same weekend. 

Any pros here that know how to correct this interior without spending thousands on new interior all around?   I've attached 2 pics showing the damage, but it's like this all over the boat(open bow, all seats, etc) on any surface that was pointed up, facing the sun.  I'm super bummed about this happening and think the shop/boat builder is responsible for the damage, but have yet to do anything to force the issue as of yet.    I'd just like my boat interior to be in the same condition as when it was dropped off for fiberglass work, no better and no worse.   

Anyone out there had this happen to white interior and found a way to re-condition in to look white again?    Thanks in advance.

Thank you.  I only saw it listed in silver and black at Rex Marine.   I guess I should call them to see if they have any white left.

I checked with Rex Marine, and they only have it in aluminum finish or black.  White not available from Rex.

The boat already has a place diverter, so I'm good there.  The boat does get on a plane, but it just doesn't do it like my old 18' jet boat did. There is a definite lag in getting this 21 up on plane, but obviously it's a bigger boat. Nothing plugging the intake suction, I think I'm just dealing with an 18 year old jet that is worn.  Same logic applies to the fuel usage.   I'm just comparing to our old, family 18' jet that I grew up in at the river.  There is a plate behind the transom and below the jet.   This Dominator I think is called an E pump, the whole thing is outside the boat hull. 

On the diverter subject, the boat does tend to porpoise when the diverter is kicked up, and boat fully loaded or higher speed is not maintained. I've read other people here and other boat forums have the same issue. Supposedly a lack of HP to keep the boat "up" is the cause of this. Lowering the diverter immediately corrects the porpoising.

Thank you.   What did it run you doing the job yourself?   I think my type of pump has to be done in the boat.   Is that the type of rebuild you did yourself?

I tried the magic eraser sponge(in small areas where I had black mark) and L.A's Totally Awesome interior cleaner.  Both worked well in brightening up the white vinyl interior.  I'll say this as a word to the wise though, avoid leaving the interior cleaner sitting on your fiberglass gel coat.  It will leave a temporary mark that seems to go away.  There was some leaked cleaner from the spray handle on the bottom of the bottle that when I moved the bottle the next day left a ring imprint of the bottle bottom on the gelcoat.  As days have gone by, it seems to have gone away. 

I'd like to still hit it with the Interior Conditioner from Boat Candy, but I try to avoid Amazon when possible....Jeff Bezos, founder,  is a douche that advocates for trash, garbage so I avoid supporting his businesses as much as posslble.  PBC has still not replied to my inquires from their website.  Amazing.

Would all of this same advice, info apply to a Dominator jet?  I have a leak from the packing area, & it's now to the point that after 10 minutes of run time, I have to run the bilge pump to pump the water out of the bottom of the hull.  Bilge pumps it all out in under 30 seconds, but nonetheless it is a water leak.  How much do I tighten these nuts without overtightening them?   Thanks.

Thanks for the replies.   What are these "white sponges?"   I've read about an interior cleaner from 99 Cents Only store too calling LA's Totally Awesome or something like that?  Anyone here had good results with it?

My 01 Commander 21' Jet had 2 bolt on skags/fins that were thru bolted to the bottom of the hull, one on each side of the pump inlet area.  I let someone use my boat and it drifted up on a rock bar while they were on a float, so they broke off.  I've contacted Commander and they do not have a pair or know where to get them any longer.  Anyone have a pair they'd sell?  The picture shows what I have left of the ones that were on my boat(I jet ski'd to the rock bar and picked up my broken pieces  )

Already picked up a new rudder from Place Diverter.

I tried looking for it and came up empty.  I saw an ad for a Maverick hull with trailer and Dodge truck, but no tank mentioned in that ad.   Was the tank aluminum?  Thanks in advance.

I have a set of 11 gal or so tanks on a thread help my pump funds nit sure if that's what ur looking for ?
